Workspaces

Set up the container your organization hires from — its URL, its settings, and how deletion works.

Overview

A workspace is the container for everything your organization hires with: teams, jobs, candidates, applications, documents, career sites and members. Every record belongs to exactly one workspace, and nothing crosses between them.

Keep one organization in one workspace. That is the model the product is built around, and it is what makes a candidate record, a saved view and a career site link all mean the same thing to everyone.

Each workspace has its own address, app.attia.app/your-workspace, and that URL key appears in every link you share inside the product.

What you get on day one

Creating a workspace sets up a first team called Recruiting, with the identifier REC, visible to everyone in the workspace. You are added to it as its lead. This only happens when a workspace has no teams yet, so adopting an existing organization will not add a duplicate.

You can rename that team, add more, or work entirely from a different one — nothing depends on it keeping its original name.

Workspace settings

Open settings from the sidebar, or press G then S from anywhere.

Your own settings — Preferences, Profile, Notifications, Security & access, Agent personalization — sit at the top and are the same for everyone. Below them, the Administration group holds Workspace, Teams, Career sites, Members, Security, Billing and Audit log.

Most of the Administration group is restricted:

Settings → Jobs → StatusesWorkspace admins
Settings → Audit logThe workspace owner
Settings → TeamsEvery member
Settings → Career sitesEvery member

A member who is not an admin does not see the restricted entries in the settings sidebar, and opening one directly returns a not-found page rather than an empty shell.

Changing the workspace URL

Old links keep working. When you change the URL, the previous key is remembered and any address that used it redirects permanently to the new one — including deep links, so /old-key/jobs/… lands on /new-key/jobs/….

A URL key is 1–64 characters, lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, and has to start and end with a letter or a digit. Some keys are reserved by the application and will be refused with That slug is reserved by the application. A key already used by another workspace, or previously used by yours, is refused as well.

Delete a workspace

Deleting a workspace is a two-stage process with a 30-day window in between.

Only the workspace owner can start it. Open Settings → Workspace → Danger zone, select Delete workspace, and type the workspace name exactly to confirm. Admins who are not the owner see the button disabled with Only the workspace owner can delete this workspace.

Nothing changes during the window. Members keep working, jobs keep running, and the public career site stays up. The button in the danger zone becomes Cancel deletion and shows the date the window ends.

Any workspace admin can cancel — not only the owner, and not only the person who scheduled it. That is deliberate: the admin who started a deletion may be the person who has just left.

One thing is not reversible. Scheduling a deletion immediately revokes every active candidate profile access grant in the workspace. Cancelling brings the workspace back but does not bring those grants back; they have to be requested again. Both the confirmation dialog and the danger zone say so.

At the end of the window the workspace closes. Members lose access, the career site goes dark, and the workspace disappears from the switcher. See Not available yet for what closing does and does not do to the data.

Working in more than one workspace

One account can belong to several workspaces, each with its own members, teams and billing plan.

Switch between them from Switch workspace in the sidebar account menu, or open /select-workspace directly. Switching is plain navigation, so two browser tabs can sit in two different workspaces at the same time.

A workspace past its deletion cutoff is dropped from the switcher rather than offered as a destination that would render empty.

Roles

A workspace has one owner, any number of admins and members, and an optional guest flag. A guest is a restricted member: they can sit in a sub-team without belonging to its parent team, and they are held out of workspace-wide capabilities — editing documents, managing career sites, and owning the workspace.

Exactly one member holds the owner role at a time, and a small set of actions is reserved for them. The Workspace owner article has the full split.

Not available yet

  • Permanent deletion. At the end of the 30-day window the workspace closes and everyone loses access, but its data is not yet erased. Nothing in Attia promises otherwise — no message says a workspace is permanently removed — but if you need a hard deletion on a schedule, ask support rather than relying on the window.
  • A keyboard shortcut for switching workspaces. Use the sidebar account menu.
  • Import and export. There is no bulk import of jobs or candidates, and no workspace-wide export of everything a workspace holds. Narrower exports do exist: the audit log's CSV, which is owner-only, and an Export CSV action on the workspace members and team members lists.
  • Choosing a region. Every workspace is hosted in West EU (Ireland). The Region row is informational.
